The new film adaptation of Agatha Christie's "Murder on the Orient Express" had its first trailer released on Thursday. The film, with the screenplay adapted by Michael Green, has such heavyweight names as Oscar winners Penelope Cruz and actors Johnny Depp, Willem Dafoe and Kenneth Branagh, who also directs the film. The cast also features Michelle Pfeiffer, Daisy Ridley and Josh Gad.
In the story, detective Hercule Poirot (Kenneth Branagh) tries to unravel the mysterious murder of a passenger during a trip on a luxury train. Viewed as a despicable person, the victim (Johnny Depp) had many enemies, and it will be up to Poirot to investigate an eccentric group of 13 potential suspects to discover the culprit. This is the second adaptation of the detective novel for the movies. Sidney Lumet's first version of Sidney Lumet's "Murder on the Orient Express" (1974) won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for Ingrid Bergman and earned five Academy Award nominations.
The film is set to debut this November in US.
